'06 Accord burning oil

I have a 06 Accord 5 speed SE which has been burning oil rather quickly. I got my oil changed about 2,000 miles ago, and I had to add 2 quarts of oil just to get to the bottom line on the dip stick. Theres a thick black residue on the inside of the exhaust, which suggests the oil is being burned and sent through the exhaust.

I've done some reading online and it seems like sometimes the oil control rings go bad on Accords. I mentioned this to my mechanic and he said he wants to do a "leak down" test. Other people have mentioned that a compression test won't show anything in this situation because the oil control rings don't affect the compression. My question is, will the leak down test show anything if the oil control rings are bad? Or is it basically the same as a compression test? It will cost at least $80, so if its not going to show anything, I'd rather spend the money fixing the oil control rings. Thanks for any help,

well, if you going to have a shop repair it, you need to let the shop diagnose it.
Also, I'd consider going to Honda dealer.
Luck.
