06 Accord Viper Alarm Remote Start Question?

Sup Guys,

I just purchased the Viper 791xv remote start alarm for my 06 EX, the guy at the store informed me that i needed a additional piece for my particular car because its an 06 in order for the remote start to work. He also mentioned something about having to physically leave one of the keys to my car inside the car at all times in order for the remote start to work. Is this correct? I aint never heard of anything like this. I've had remote start alarms on my previous cars and never have to do any of this. Can anyone offer me some feedback.

Also does anyone have a remote start viper alarm on their 06? Whats your set up like?

Thanks

RE: 06 Accord Viper Alarm Remote Start Question?

For the remote start to work you need a key with the chip to stay in the dash, unless you get the by-pass module. Either way for them to program the remote start they will need all sets of keys to program the alarm. I am having the Viper 5701 installed this Saturday but will be adding the remote start module. Always get a few quotes because these alarm guys are very flexable and you get a better idea if they are lying or not. Good luck.
