1989 Accord EX squeak/groan

I have a 1989 Accord EX with 194,000original kms on it.

the car is mint and runs well....BUT:

there is a strange creak/ groan coming from the front passenger top of the shock??

if I bounce the car slightly up and down by pushing on the passenger side front fender, the creak/groan is coming from the inside of the top of the shock.

If I bounce the car up and down harder it wont do it??

Does anyone know what this may be?

1989 Accord EX squeak/groan

I have a very annoying squeak/ groan coming from the front passenger top of the shock.

it makes this noise when I push on the front passenger fender and make the car go up and down slightly.

I put my hand on the top of the shock/strut and I can feel the vibration fron the groan.

does anyone have any idea what this may be or how to fix it??

Hard to call.....could be the strut mount, upper control arm, sway bar bushings or links, ect.

There are some video's around that help in finding what it might be. If you can "make it happen", most of the time you can "feel" what is "squeaking" - meaning if your hand os on the top of the strut and you press on the car - do you feel the vibration at the top of the strut?

Merged the two threads into one.

Yes I can feel the vibration with my hand on top of the strut,

So what next?

Well it sounds like time to replace the strut mounts...maybe the struts as well if you don't know the age.

Or we might be able to "cheap" out and spray some lube on the mount?
