1994 Accord motor mounts- which is more important?

My 94 Ex Accord is not shifting properly. Actually, it is now barely changing gears. I accelerate and it takes several seconds before it shifts. It was a slightly nerve racking experience getting it home yesterday. Pulling out into a busy road and not being able to get across quickly was a gamble. All three mounts are bad, but it looks like the front is by far the worst. The front cost about $30 and the side cost $130. I would like to know if just replace the front will that likely get the tranny shifting decent again, or when shifting is suffering as much as mine that the side mount has the most affect on shifting?

Also, do I need to take the brackets off before I jack the engine up or jack it up from the very beginning? I tried to search for a DIY but could not find one so if anyone knows of a good picture tutorial for 94-97 Accord mount please let me know, thanks.

Front and rear mounts are usual cause of excess engine movement. I doubt motor mounts are causing late shifting, flare at shift. You can feel engine movement through the gas pedal sometimes w/ bad mounts.

Get download manual for help (Online Manuals post in DIY forum). There are some guidance notes on replacing front/rear mounts. Rear is most difficult. Also check youtube for videos.

good luck
