1995 6 Cyl Accord has starting problem

Hello all, I am new here and I have an issue I hope you can help me with. I have a 1995 6 cyl automatic Accord. My car starts fine when it is cold but if I drive it around for a while (roughly 30 minutes or so) and then shut it off and try to re-start it within about 10-25 minutes, it just clicks once per attempt. Sometimes it takes 3-4 times, sometimes it takes 100.

I had the battery and starter tested at Autozone and the battery (a 3 year old Optima that I did not purchase, it was in the car when I bought it) tested fine but the starter was bad. My father in law and I replaced the starter this weekend and also checked all of the ground connections and the battery terminal connections. Still having the same problem. But when my father in law put the meter on the battery with the car off, it was reading around 11.2-11.4.

I am not mechanically inclined so I have no idea what I am doing or what could be wrong.

Any info, advice, etc. is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Battery voltage is low. It should be 12.2-12.6 v w/ fully charged battery. However, that might be enough to turn starter.

Have you carefully inspected battery wires (Pos and Neg) for good connections to battery and to car (starter for pos and body for neg). We have seen similar problems caused by corroded wire near battery connector.

good luck
