1995 ex fuel issues
 

Ok so I know this will sound weird but I have had two of these cars a 94 ex and a 95 ex and the 95 ex will not accept more than 11 gallons of fuel period when it starts to stutter due to low fuel and it is also only at 1/4 tank when it does this what could possibly cause this I would like to have the other 6 gallons of capacity back but I'm not sure what's going on with it

I have a '97 so same size tank. Thinking it's a slightly smaller than norm size: more like a 14-15 gallon tank. Don't know the issue/fix ...

Had a friend with a Dodge that had a hole in tank, so he just kept tank between a 1/4 and 5/8+ tank so it wouldn't dribble out - drove it for years, even out of town.
Annoyance, yes, but how much is it worth to remove the annoyance? LUCK.

Sorry I'm a bit confused about what is going on from your post. Does the engine start stuttering when you get below 1/4 mark on the fuel gauge? Why can't you add more than 11 gallons to the tank?

Just a wild guess...

The fuel pump inlet fitting/screen has come loose, so when the tank is 1/4 full the pump begins to suck vapor. That's when it starts stuttering. Since there's 1/4 tank still in there, it only takes 11 gallons to fill it.

That would be guess as to what's happening as well. Another possibility is the hose from the pump to the sending unit has a crack, and is not keeping the fuel going straight thru (some of it is dumping back into the tank), as I've personally seen that happen on GM's, right before the owner changes the pump because of a bad connecting hose. Sometimes this acts like the pump quit.

that may be so but I just put a fuel pump in the tank of this car and it was able go go under 1/4 tank with it but after i got gas the first time i was unable to use the rest of the tank

yes it starts stuttering acting like there is no fuel but I just put a new pump in it when I got the car since the oem pump was dead
