1996 Accord V6 SRS Computer replacement
We have a 1996 Accord V6 (85K miles) and the SRS light is on. Dealer indicates the SRS computer needs to be replaced at a cost of $700.
We have had the car since new and plan to keep it. I hate dropping $700 into this computer if there are alternatives available. Used? Remanufactured? Have seen a few on Ebay - but not sure where to locate the module and verify the correct part number. Any thoughts on how I can get this done without buying a new unit? |

Salvage yard unit might work if it hasn't been activated, make sure they will warranty it. I think there are 2 manufacturers.
The unit is located on the center 'hump' behind the radio. Disconnect the battery after you get your radio code, then you can dash dive down by the gas pedal to remove the torque screws that hold it in place. Also dive in on the passenger side to check for more bolts there. |

did they say what was wrong with it? no chance that it can just be reset or anything?
