Does anyone have the text for this recall? The dealer replaced the O2 sensor at no charge this week, said it was a recall - but I cannot find this recall notice anywhere.Nor as a tech bullentin.

 

I think you are confusing the issue; there is an Extended Emission Warranty

are you sure about this? i went in for my transmission speed sensor and they said that was a recall too so they didnt charge me anything when they replaced it AND they replaced my started, spark-plugs and did an oil change for no cost! HAHA. but now my oxygen sensor went out and its expensive! lol so iv been looking around and it would b awesome if they would do it for free cuz of a recall!

 

Certain specific items have their own (much longer) factory warranty, like O2 sensors, ECU, & catalytic converters. (Required by federal law)

So it's not a RECALL. Read your warranty booklet. Maybe something like 8-year/80k-miles which would put a 1996 accord out-of-warranty for even those things.

 

well recently i had my o2 sensor die and when i took my car in they said my warranty was an emissions one that was good for 150,000 miles or 14 years since the purchase date. that means iv got like a month left on it. so thats cool. but it was ONLY for emission items. like o2 sensors etc.....
