1998 Accord-No Speedo,Cruise or Odometer

1998 Accord se 2.3l Manual Tranny..There is no pulse from the Sensor or maybe i am checking it wrong..I have checked at the ECM,Speedo and right at the VSS..The VSS is New..I have a good ground to the Black wire.at the VSS and Full Battery Voltage at the Yellow and Black..But no signal from the VSS..Maybe i am checking it wrong..There should be a pulse from the Blue/White wire from 0 to 5 Volts as i spin the VSS?..I even Spun it with a drill to eliminate a stripped tranny gear..Is ther supposed to be a full 12 votls on the Yellow/Black wire or just a 5 volt reference?.. I dont see why the VSS needs a full 12 volts if the output from the VSS only reaches 5 Volts.Any suggestions..Once again i have no signal from the Blue/White wire at the VSS,ECM or Cluster..Any comments or help will be much appreciated..Thanks Travis..My codes are p1382 --i think this is a faulty Distributor..P0500-Pertaining to the VSS..The car just started intermently stalling (once again i believe that is related to the p1382).Could the p1382 have to do with the Speedo?

I don't see a SE version of the accord in 1998. Are you sure about the model?

Can you tell me the color of the wires that go to the VSS?

I think i got it figured out.I will know for sure tomorrow..I tested two new VSS's ...I pluged them in to the Harness and used a drill to spinn the gear..I had Good 12v- and 12v+ to the correct wires--No signal coming from Blue/White wire on either sensor.I cut the blue wire and checked for voltage output from it again, while i spun the VSS with key on..Nothing...I think it is in the Harness Conector..I am going to cut the conector completely off and hook some mini female connectors directly in the VSS and test again.

Okay,i took the sensor out, made my own connectors for the Yello/Black--Positive and the Black--Negative wires..hooked the wires into the harness wires and connected it to the VSS terminals.Turned the key on and checked for voltage on those two terminals of the VSS and that is good..Then i took my meter and put the red probe to the terminal that is supposed to be the output of the VSS and put my meters black probe to a good ground...Spunn the gear with a drill at many different speeds and i have nothing..The meter just stays at .7 volts,so not even 1 volt output..So,bad sensor right?..Well the sensor is brand new and it is the second brand new one..What gives?..Am i missing something?..Should i buy a sensor directly from Honda?

UPDATE--ITS ALIVE !!!!!-- Someone before me apparentlly removed the pins from the Harness connector and when they reinstalled them they mixed up the black and blue ..I am the third mechanic to look at it and my customer will be very happy..Before i got it, the previous 2 mechanics replaced VSS,ECM,Speedo and parts of the Harness..Thanks for your replies..SEE YA!!
