Default 95 ex accord shift point adjustment?

Hi all. Quick question. I have a 95 Accord ex. 2.2 VTEC with an automatic. The shift points seem high to me. (3500-4000 rpm) Wondering if there is a way to adjust these shift points. Seams like it runs out of steam around 2500-3000 rpm so make more sense to me to have the shift points in that range.

No way to adjust the shift points. The rpm for a shift seem high to me, but I've only owned manual transmission Hondas.

I'd recommend draining an refilling the transmission using Honda ATF, or Dextron II. Draining and refilling the transmission only exchanges ~33% of the fluid, because most of the fluid is in the torque converter and doesn't drain. You should drain/refill/drive 2-3 times to exchange most of the fluid.

Also, check for engine and transmission codes to see if you have any sensors or wiring that may be acting up. Don't replace a sensor based on a code. You still need to diagnose.

There is also a cable that runs from the throttle body to the transmission. There is an adjustment to take up the slack. You want slight slack on that cable. Here is a video showing how to do this on the accelerator pedal adjustment. Similar process for the cable I mentioned above. You can adjust both. Err on the side of having slight slack in the cable adjustment and don't overtighten the cable.
