I actually had to leave town on business. But, I'm still baffled at how this is kicking my behind. Any ideas or tips would be very helpful. From my research it should come out with the tool and go back in. There doesn't appear to be any clips or orientation marks to indicate otherwise. Am I missing something?

I'm getting a new high side line so that's not a problem, I need to now what the deal is with the valve core not going back in the hole it came out of.

Can't say I've ever had an issue getting them back in. Did all of the old one come out, again never seen one break off but there is always a first.

Going back in, slight pressure pushing the valve into the hole, then tighten.....

EDIT: If you are getting a new line, it should have the core already installed.
