2000 EX 2.4 refrigerant valve differentiation HOW?

See two refrigerant valves under hood of my 2000 EX 2.4. One is blue with an L (Which any ,uh MOST middle school graduates would consider the LOW pressure line and then another black with an H so they'd think HIGH, I know. The black one is located passenger side in front of the radiator on a thin metal pipe which seems to enter a drier or filter... something with what appears to be a sightglass. I think THIS one is the lowside, that the two have been mistakenly replaced by a previous owner.:( One attempt at recharge on the larger hose/valve seems not to have satisfied the need for 134a as the a/c while cooling, does so weakly. Does my assessment sound right here? Should that smaller line outboard of radiator be the lowside??
Thanks in advance
Jim

Refrig. Valve location

Ok, I walked back the the garage and did what that little voice in the back of my head was telling me to do before I posted my last. I attempted to interchange the blue and black refrigerant valve cover caps and they would not interchange, so now I know they are in their proper location and which is high and which is low pressure sides. Ain't them Honda engineers SMART or what? Added another can of 134a and we'll see.

it's not honda, it's a SAE standard for the charge ports to be a different size so the gauges or recycle machine can't be hooked up wrong. and a r12 system cannot be accidentally hooked up either.
