2000 Honda Accord LX shock absorber removal?
 

I need help guys, I need to replace my shock absorber, anyone knows a good DIY guide with pictures? I need the one from a service manual. Thanks!

Well you have springs... you must have had them put on somewhere or bought the car with them...

Will it be the same procedure especially in putting those parts together? My car is currently making a like a "knock" sound from the right rear shock whenever I hit a dip, I'm guessing the guy who installed the shocks didn't do it right. So I need to disassemble and put it back together again, but I need to know how the exact and correct way of putting it together.

From the uneasy tone I'm getting from yuor posts, I'm going to say that you should have a mechanic do it. Also, it's best to replace shocks and springs in pairs or quads like tires.

If you feel comfortable doing it yourself, I can help you step-by-step with diagrams. You will need to compress the spring with a rented spring compressor. All in all it's not a terrible job, you just need a lot of penetrating oil/WD-40 to free up rusted bolts :D

Knocking noises from the suspension is somewhat typical of lowered cars. I have a feeling that the piece or rubber between the spring and mount has worn through making a metal-on-metal knock. Do you know if they are aftermarket shocks? Aftermarket ones are usually yellow, red or blue, while the stock ones are black and have "SHOWA" written on them.

Finch13...yes they are aftermarket, they are KYB shocks, the odd thing about this is it only knock on the right back side. I'm thinking maybe my brother-in-law didn't put it back right. I actually just need the picture on how the shock should be assembled including those rubber thing, so I can show him how it should be.

The rubber part is #10 in the picture. They are special order at Honda with part number 52686-S84-A01. They shouldn't cost you more than $5/ea and I actually have a full set on order from Honda right now.... which reminds me to call them and ask why they aren't in...
