Default 2000 Honda Accord Mirror issues

Ok,
So I have replaced the switch and multiplex units. Mirrors move up and down, but won't move left or right. I find it hard to believe that both gears went out at same time. Any ideas?

Thanks,
James

Have you tested the mirror switch to be sure it is good?

Default Switch tested

Yes, I have tested new switch. the problem gets more confusing because the old switch did the same thing. Now, the mirrors work only when they want too....LOL One minute they work, the next they don't one minute they will move up and down or even left and right and the next minute they won't again same with the new switch and the old switch. Hope this clarifies things.

James

Sounds like a wire issue....sometimes work, then they don't. I'd look at where the wires go thru the door jam??????

Default How to test

I willl check the wires to see if I can see anything. Anyone know how I can test the mirror themselves to make sure the mirror motoers/gears are still good. I tried using them today, like I said they work for 3 seconds then stop, awhile later they work for a few seconds then stop. Driving me crazy!!

Thanks for the help.

Here is a diagram showing how to test the switch, you can use this same diagram to know which wires to jump to make them move.

Then I have to ask, why are having to adjust the mirrors so much.....I can't remember the last time I adjusted mine.

I check switch again, its good. I will attempt to jump mirrors like you suggested. To answer your other question 3 people drive vehicle so mirror adjust happens often. Still checking door jam as well, will get back to you with what I find.

I registered to this forum because of this thread. I have the exact same problem as JJones. Switcher seems fine. Did you solve this issue? Any help is appreciated. Thanks! ( I own Accord 2000 Coupe)

Sorry, as many of these go (I don't like it) we never hear the end result.

Have some time and a volt meter we can try to figure it out.

I got the volt meter. What setting should it be in for this? I dont want to accidentally fry anything.
