when i drive my car it makes a whining sound by the way its a 2.3 ultra low emisions vtec

 

Does the whining sound persist all the time; for example, at idle and when driving or does it occur only at certain times like when moving; but, not at idle?

Also, does it sound like from the engine or wheels areas? Sometimes sounds can be tricky though to pinpoint.
