2002 Accord Distributor Rotor Question

Hi all,

I'm about to replace my spark plugs and along with it my distributor rotor. Does anybody know whether the 02 accord (4 cyl, manual) uses a Tec or Apache type? Thanks in advance.

That's something you'll have to look into on the distributor. I'm pretty sure Honda stopped using 2 different types of distributors in 1998. If they are different, a parts store should be able to determine which one it is based on the engine code, it's stamped right below or around the upper coolant hose on the block.

F23A4 - ULEV VTEC 4cyl LX/EX
F23A5 - non-VTEC 4cyl DX

Go to www dot hondaautomotiveparts dot com
click PARTS
put in your car's information

Look at the 2 different distributor pictures, which one matches YOURS?

Thanks for the input guys. '02 Accord EX Coupe has a HITACHI distributor just as an FYI for everyone else.

For everyone else, I bet it's random since they're probably BOTH used. Honda normally has more than one supplier for most things, and occasionally they're not absolutely identical.
