2002 Accord Keyless Entry Issues

Hello,
I have 2 original keyless entry remotes for my 2002 Accord and they both stopped working at the same time. This led me to believe it was something in the car and not the remotes but I went ahead and replaced both batteries, did all the programming and they still won't work. I tested them at the local parts store on their machine that detects if a signal is coming out, and both were good.

So. Its clearly something with the car. I read about the MICU on the drivers side but I wanted to see if there was anything else I should trying before ripping that out.

I don't know if it's related or not, but incase it gives some insight: When you turn the key twice on the passenger side, it unlocks all the doors but it won't do the same on the drivers side door. I don't know if that's normal or shows where the issue might be.

Thanks for any help or insight anyone can give me!

I think turning the key twice is normal but not really sure (I had a 1998 Accord but always seem to use the remote).

Search here and in the DIY area for resetting the MICU. Before removing it, there's a procedure of setting some switches a certain way to cause that unit to reboot itself. That's a free & painless thing to try first.

I think you only need to turn it once on the right (passenger) door, to unlock all doors. On the left door it's turn it once to unlock the drivers (left) door, turn the key twice unlocks all of the doors. At least that's how my 99 and 00 are without a key fob (they both don't have one).
