2002 accord LX automatic
Hi Ive been driving my accord for about 2 years now, previously owned by my mom/dad, mostly highway mileage. The vehicle is well up to date with its maintenance as it always has been. However at the dealership their diagnostic tool indicated my catalytic converter was no good. This along with the distributor, which immediatley conked out and another new one had to be ordered and installed, We were also told the base unit of these parts should not have issues. Now when I'm cruising around 65-70mph and I push on the accelerator my car revs up to 4000 and stays in place, no gain or lessening of speed, Also when I'm cruising between 45-50 the car shakes as if its sputtering, which sounds like a problem with the distributor, the new one. If anyone could give me any feedback on this it would be well appreciated, I understand this generation accord has AT problems I'd like to know if its worth fixing or if it would be more wise to swap in a 5spd, let me know what you think, thanks
Shea.
