Do they lock with the key in the door.

No, only the drivers door will lock when I use the key. Before this happened, all the doors would lock when I manually locked the drivers door.

Also, when all the doors are closed, the overhead dome light remains on. Forgot to add this detail in my first post.

Does the little light on the door stay on as well?

And please add you car info to you signature line.

Intersting. The little light on the door actually turns off. Only the dome light stays on when all the doors are closed. Is there a way to find the source of this? Maybe a short that makes the car think the doors aren't closed?

There's a timer, right? So the door light turns off immediately but the dome light stays on for what, 45 seconds or something? Sounds like the switch is OK but the timer isn't.

I'll time it, but I think the dome light stays on indefinitely now. It used to just fade to off when the doors were closed. What sensor determines if a door is open or closed? I'm thinking that since the dome light is staying on that the car thinks a door is still open and maybe this is why it won't lock. Does this seem plausible?

That seems plausible, but the same "sensor" should control both the dome light and the small lamp on the door itself. It's a small button covered with a rubber boot, in the door-jamb.

Check also the switch on the dome light itself - is it turned on?

The dome light has a Door setting and and Off setting. When switched to Door, the light stays indefinitely when all doors are closed. And the doors don't lock.

Also, I found this last night. Does anyone know about the MICU? This is a Honda Tech Bulletin and it sounds like maybe my MICU may be an issue. Is this something I can fix myself or will I need to bring it to the dealership?

Yeah, that multiplexer controls things like locks & lights, so that's a good possibility.

Without having the HDS (Honda's proprietary scan-tool) I think there is a procedure for re-booting the multiplexers. It's something very strange like set the wipers switch a certain way then turn something else on. Search for "reset multiplex" both here (General Tech) and in the DIY sections. I never had to do that while I owned a 2003, so I don't know the details.

Yeah, I'm not to enthusiastic about going to the dealership for an HDS scan. Thanks for the multiplex reset idea too. I'll see what I can find.
