2004 Accord Front License Plate Issue
 

Hi all,
I am new here so thanks in advance for the welcome.
I have a 2004 Accord sedan V6 with a broken front plate holder. I took it to my local dealer and unfortunately I will have to replace the entire bumper to fix it properly ($800 total cost). It seems the under part of the bumper the plate attaches to is busted. The dealer suggested that I simply screw the holder into the front bumper to avoid the cost. Since it is a 2004 with 100k miles, I don’t mind doing this.
My question is what the heck do I use to screw it in? Special type of screw? New plate mount?
Any suggestions are appreciated.

Verify that the part where the plate bracket bolts to the bumper is broken. You should figure out why it is broken as well, because that shouldn't just break unless you were in an accident.

The other option if you don't want to drill into the bumper is to find one that is the same color as yours from a junkyard.
