2004 accord heater problem

Hey guys, i have a problme on my 2004 accord with dual climate. I get heat when teh car is driving, but when im at idle the air goes cold. When i rev the engine to around 2 - 3k rpm i start getting hot air again? Any suggestions?

If your coolant system is full then you may have a restricted heater core. Do you feel confident to pull the heater hoses of in the engine bay and flush the heater core from both directions with a garden hose and see what comes out?

Check your coolant level.

ok, so I checked my coolant levels. I flushed out the heater core and clean water came out. I checked the valve that opens an closes it works fine. The problem that I see is that coolant is not flowing into the heater core unless the engine is reved. Any suggestions?

how did you check the water valve? removed the cable on it and verified it works or had someone go in the car and turn it on full cold while you watched the cable, then full hot while you watched the cable and saw it move?

i'm leaning toward a bad air/mix contorl motor, since it also controls the water valve cable.

and i've never seen a heater core clogged on any accord yet. only on 04-05 elements. but anything is possible.

After I drove around for a bit. Seems like I was getting proper heat again. Must've have been the valve not opening and closing properly because Ireset the cable and greased up the vavle and it works just fine now all the time. Thanks for all ur help guys.
