The J30A4 engine in the 2004 Accord V-6 model is indeed an interference type. In interference engine designs, regular belt or chain service is especially important as incorrect timing may result in the pistons and valves colliding and causing extensive engine damage and therefore costly repairs. Inspect your timing belt periodically (also note any oddities occurring with the timing belt pulleys) for any signs of wear and diligently address any issues that may arise.

I've heard of one too many Honda endure severe engine damage as a result of timing belt maintenance negligence :(
