2004 Honda Accord

So, the Air conditioning just stopped all together...not A/C, not heater, etc... I put in a new blower resistor as soon as I got it out of the parts place. However, I just plugged it in and let it dangle there. I didn't put it back into the housing. It worked great for about 10 minutes then died out again. Now the A/C will not turn on at all. Did the resistor have to be screwed back into the firewall so that it would not burn out?

It's not a resistor, but a thermal fuse which fails open when cooling is inadequate. It may be that not plugged into receptacle, there is not enough cooling and element burns out. It may also be that blocked cabin air filter leads to failure in first case. This seems to be a common fault on 2003-2007 Accords.

good luck

There was a recent post on here where a new aftermarket part failed out of the box. This might be a part that you want to get at the dealership.

Another option is to pick one up from a junkyard for very cheap.
