2011 accord coupe v6 curb rash wheel rim help
 

I have an 11 coupe v6 with 18" OEM wheels/rims. Awesome looking wheels IMO, but today i did something stupid and bumped the curb. Both passenger side wheels now have scratches around the lip of the wheel where the tire meets the rim. one scratch is 2 inches and the other is 5inches or so. Nothing major but I was looking into maybe sanding down the scratches and touching up the paint just to protect the wheel from further damage.

Can anyone tell me the paint code for these wheels? And where I can buy it?

I think that is going to be the hard part. As far as I know there isn't a "paint code" match for rims. Which means you are left with finding something as close as possible to match......I hope I'm wrong.

Or maybe paint all 4 wheels? That might be easier than blending out the paint on something as small as a wheel.

Wouldn't this be Mr. WheelBrokerAng's specialty??? where is he?

I have the same rims on my sedan,here they have rims shops that repair all type of rims,
I guess curd damage is going to happen when you live in a urban city.

Just sand and repaint all of them if you can!

Honda Blade Silver Metallic, Part Number 08703-NH95MAH-PN is the closest to the 2008 - 2010 Accord OEM alloy wheel paint color. They seem to have changed the alloy wheel style for the 2011-2012; but, if your color is similar, then the above is the closest. You can buy the touch-up paint through the dealer.

Thanks Redbull-1, I thought you did "some" touch up on yours a while back. I remember you helping another member a month or so ago.....I think they were in the UK....can't remember, read to much.

As far as I know, there are no paint codes for Rims.. factory or otherwise.. the dealer may sell a touch up paint.. maybe, dunno...

The pros re-surface the wheel.. either grind down and sand the wheel smooth... Ooor they fill with a putty, let harden, and sand smooth... Then they prime and paint entire wheel.. fresh paint, fresh clear. When your set up to do it right, its very easy. Paint guns and air tanks cost money tho...

I work for an automotive paint and material supplier "a jobber" for body shops to get the goods they need to fix the busted cars. Millions of paint colors for cars... Not so much for Rims...

I use an 90 air grinder... Depending on metal, start with low grit 50grit , work up to high grit for smooth finish... Only use putty if u have very deep rash.. sand all smooth.. 500 grit.. prime, 1500 grit.. prime 2000 grit, clean.. pick a new hot color.. spray a single stage (clear included) with a one time use spray bottle, let dry... X 4 Rims and all good n new!
