2015 Accord - What does this light indicate?
2 Attachment(s)
Morning!
This may be painfully obvious, but trying to google this or find it in the manual is proving difficult. https://www.hondaaccordforum.com/for...ine=1472219807 It's referenced in the manual with relation to the "Select/Reset Knob" that's directly below it, but I can't verify if that's the intended purpose. It's always on, and it's making me somewhat crazy. Would someone be able to explain what this light is, what it indicates, and it's purpose (if any)? |
Looks like a Cruise Control "On" mode indicator to me.

Yeah, others have suggested that too. Unfortunately, toggling cruise on/off doesn't toggle the light. And there's dedicated cruise lights elsewhere on the panel.
Here's the closest reference I can find in the manual: https://www.hondaaccordforum.com/for...ine=1472224254 My only guess is that it's a light for the odometer/trip knob, but that seems so... superfluous? |

That is just the symbol/identifier for the select/reset knob.
The select/reset knob is explained in the attached PDF excerpt from the technology reference guide, available on Honda's website. The knob can toggle between the different displays for oil life, trip, etc. The knob can also be use to reset the oil life and other maintenance minder items. |
I miss the days when auto manufacturers used words instead of symbols. I think the trend toward symbols may have started with Volkswagen... that's the first car I saw them in... picture of a flame for the Lighter, e.g.

if you twist the reset knob, does your dash lights dim or brighten? that may be the symbol for that.

I also have a 2016 crv that took me a while to figure out how to dim my dash lights because I didn't know what that symbol meant. glad I could help.
