3 warning lights at once
2002 Accord V6 Auto 84K
This morning the check engine, TCS, and D4 ( blinking ) came on while driving. I drove it for about about 4 miles and the car was running fine. When I put it in park I could hear a faint clicking underneath the car ( soleinoid maybe ). I shut the car off and restarted and only the check engine light came on. It runs and shifts like nothing is wrong. It does still have the original trans. I have seen this type of post before, but was having a hard time finding it with the search feature |
You need to get the dtc number for the check engine light. Read up on pulling codes using the SCS method and you can likely get the trans codes. TCS is prolly just along for the ride since some engine codes will cause TCS as well. Without codes remote diag is pretty much just guessing.
Autozone can usually pull codes for you, but I don't think their scanners can do the trans computer and definately not TCS. |
Thanks for the response. I just changed the tranny fluid for grins. It was nice and pink with no shavings. I have a mechanic friend who can check the codes. I will post back with the findings.

One code came back as a shift code error. Reset the code and drove the car and the light has not come back on. Hopefully it was just a one time deal.
He said it was possibly the shift solenoid. I forgot to ask him, but does anybody know if it is located internally or externally |
It's external (and replacable) on the 4-cyl auto tranny. Don't know about the V-6 since its a completely different tranny.
Next time get the actual error code numbers (P####). |
I am pretty sure the scanner said PO780 or 790....shift code error
I have driven the car about 150 miles since the code was reset and have not had a problem. Only the check engine light stayed on after I shut off and restarted the car. I am sure that was just because a code stored. |
