Hey folks,

Just registered as a new member, hope to be making some visits soon. Anyways i just purchased a 02 Honda Accord EX Coupe with the entire driver side knee assembly (upper/lower control arms, spindle/caliper, strut/spring) w/ ABS missing and gone when i got it. I am having a tough time finding parts and have found a guy on this site who has the 01' 4dr sedan.........

So, the question of the day? are they interchangeable from the 4dr to the 2dr??

i called the Honda dealership, the tech said they will as long as they have the same size motor, but i sensed the attitude that i was just taking up his time and he didnt really wanna look it all up so he wasnt of much help at all!!

so if any of you guys have knowledge and are for sure about this please let me know cuz i really dont want to go thru the hassle of having to return any parts to the guy i bought them from...Thanks in advance!!!

I sure wish I could help you with your question, but unfortunately I can not...

I would try to find a good Honda Body man at your dealership who is into the import tuner thing and then buy him a sandwich for his knowledge, body shop mechanics do like food I notice, at least my guy does at my dealership...

well folks....the verdict is in or fairly close anyways

the 4dr and 2dr 4cyl models share the same suspension assembly except for the knuckle, NOW here is the tricky part, in 2002, im not sure but from what i could tell from the schematics, its possible they just gave it a new part number, because in 01, the knuckle has the same part number in both the 4dr and 2dr. It was a bit confusing although i personally think it will still work according to the pics because it sure as hell looks the exact same to me but im not willing to take that chance.

anyways, i found this info at www.hondaautomotiveparts.com they have quite a few schematics with a user friendly interface

unfortunately, i still have no parts though but thats the way of the world sometimes..... [sm=boohoo.gif]

 

I'm sure the suspension parts won't change much even 2dr vs 4dr vs 4cyl vs v6. Though they may vary slightly I bet they are unnoticably different.
