I use Penzoil High Mileage 5w-30
What are you doing using high mileage oil? I thought your car had "little old lady" mileage on it?

Heck, I use 10W30 in both of my Accords (but I am not recommending you do this.)
Jon ..... you know as well as any that the 10 doesn't mean much. Given the steamroom that you live in, I think 10W30 is a good choice.

Yeah I know. I was just trying to prove a point. There won't really be much difference between 5w20, 5w30, or 10w30

I've heard Royal Purple really is the best. However, you have to sell your kidney on the black market to be able to afford it.

to all of you that are using Fram filters....GET RID OF IT we just had to pull alot of the smaller Fram filters off of our shelves at work because we got sent a bulletin from Honeywell saying that there were problems with the gaskets on the 3600, 3593A, 2, 16, and 8A filters.. essentially they are melting and catching fire. I guarantee you if you start using Mobil 1 filters you'll not use anything else.

what? they sell that crap at pep boys for $7 or so a qt. not too expensive. Mobil 1 is still argulably the best. Amsoil is good too supposedly. theres much more expensive oils out there, like Lucas brand synthetic oil at $8.50 last time i checked at pep boys. psh..i just go to wally world and get a 5 qt. jug of Mobil 1 5w30 extended performance. usually $27-$30. cheaper than buying them seperately. it takes exactly 5 qt.s anyway.

On the cars that recommend w20 or w30 there's no real difference. My car was made for 20 weight and doesn't like 30 weight oil. It causes a tick that sounds like a sewing machine ..... a lot of people would say that is how a Honda engine sounds, but I know how my J30 is supposed to sound. It just likes 20 weight better. The leading 0, 5 or 10 really doesn't mean anything ...... it will give you an idea of how the engine will be coated for cold starts, but a good oil will protect without much viscosity (ie-Amsoil 0w20 or 30). Royal purple is rated the best, but as noted, it's too expensive. My favorites are Amsoil, Quaker State full synthetic & Royal Purple. On the other hand, if you do 3000 mile changes, I'd go with regular dino oil and every other change, add some Marvel Mystery Oil.

I'll have to check again, but last time I checked AZ or Advance I thought it was pretty high compared to the Valvoline High MileageI use.
