88 Accord Climate Control Problems

4 Attachment(s)
I have an 88 Accord LX 2.0l 4cyl carbed with 5 speed manual tranny

When I bought the car it had been broken into and the steering column and part of the dash was destroyed. I found a dash at a pick-n-pull and installed it. There were a couple very slight differences, but overall it went in fine. Mines a manual and the one i pulled it from was an automatic, but both had the digital push-button climate control (see attachment #1) Which is what I am having problems with - I cannot get it to switch from vent to defrost to heat and so on. At times having defrost is very crucial and without it can be dangerous, so I need to figure out the problem.

I have confirmed the following:
- The fresh / Recirc button works perfectly
- swtich unit is working correctly (performed test in attachment #2)
- switch is getting power (checked with test light and backlights work)

My questions:
- I went to perform the test in attachment #3, but couldn't find the area in the picture. Does anyone know where this is?
- I noticed that under the dash there is one male-end wire plug with no female in sight. I tried to show it in the picture (attachment #4) in case anyone can help figure out what is supposed to go under there or if it is supposed to be that way. This is laying under the dash looking up toward the climate control area. You can see the plug in the center, which i pulled out of the light blue casing a little to show it easier.
- Has anyone had a similar problem? if so, what did you do?

If you go to page 22-10, the location of those two plugs are on the heater control amplifier.

I can't tell what plug you are looking at.
