Car will start up and die.wont hold rpm

and sometimes idles reallly low (under 500) and then dies.

now it wont idle at all and when i start it it shuts off. if i rev it it will stay running. but once i let off. it just dies.

i couldnt find any info in here, but thanks for the replies and help!!

Well, I have to start with the normal tune up stuff.

Then inspect the vac lines - yes there are a ton of them.

It ran fine. its been sitting since 09 put new fuel in and slowly started to act up. i think the carb is gunked up??>

eeekkk, that could be an issue.

Get both fuel filters changed (one under the hood by the brake booster, the other is just inside the drivers rear tire. A can of two of your favorite gas treatment (seafoam, stp, whatever).

Is it me or are the 3rd gens making a comeback.....been seeing more and more of them recently.....I guess with over 30 mpg and gas being as high as it is :)
