90 Accord Rough Idle/Stalls at stops
Hello,
My name is Eric and I own a 90 Accord LX 2.2 fuel injection and a manual trans., around 180,000 miles that's having some recent problems. When I start my car it idles rough, the rpm's tend to flux between 1500 and almost stalling. After some time it will idle around 800-1000, but it sort of sounds like a lawnmower. When I pull up to a stop sign/light I have to keep my foot on the pedal to keep from stalling. When I can drive without stopping(on the expressway) it drives OK not as well as it used to. It has less power(especially driving up hills even if I have the gas pedal floored). Any help would greatly be appreaciated. I tried to put some of that STP fuel injector cleaner to no avail. Thanks in advance, Eric |

To update, I put a new distibutor cap, rotor button, and spark plug wires on and it slightly improved the situation but did not fix the problem.

RE: 90 Accord Rough Idle/Stalls at stops
In case anyone cares I had a compression test done to check out my cylinders to make sure they were all working properly. Turns out my #3 cylinder had 0 compression while the others were all firing around 200 psi. So, in short my car is now a 3 cylinder car, hence the rough idle, lost acceleration and all the stalling.
