Default 92 Accord CEL CODE 6

My 1992 Accord is showing a code 6 which is for the engine coolant temp sensor. I have replaced the coolant temp sensor..( this is the one in the end of the head), and I still get the CEL code 6. I have also checked the voltage in the connector that plugs to the temp sensor and I get 12 volts. I have also bled and burped the coolant. Any idea why I would still get this code with a new temp sensor installed??

Thanks,
CRW

The engine coolant temperature (ECT) sensor is on the cylinder head. The ECT is the sensor that is under the distributor (furthest from the front bumper of the car). It is below the distributor and has two wires going to it. Is this the sensor you replaced? What wire colors are going to the sensor you replaced?

You should be seeing approximately 5 volts at the connector instead of 12 volts.

Yest the sensor I replaced is the one under the distributor. The wire colors are one blue and one black.

The blue wire and black wire connector is for thermo-switch A located on the thermostat housing, is for the radiator fan, which would not cause the code 6.

I found the problem. The connectors for the fan switch and the coolant temp sensor were swapped. I did a head job on this car a few weeks ago and apparently plugged up the wrong connectors when putting it back together. I didn't realize they were interchangeable. Thanks Redbull.
