92 Accord Codes

I pulled some codes from my car yesterday (92 Accord EX, 178,000 miles), I got a 7, 17 and 43. The 43 says its a fuel supply or fuel delivery problem. Any ideas about where to start on that one? The 7 and 17 seem pretty straight forward, but the 43 has me stumped. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Code 43 indicates a problem w/ either O2 sensor or fuel supply, most likely fuel pressure regulator. There is a diagnostic procedure in the shop manual. I think there is a 90-93 Accord manual for download from this site.

Code 7, throttle angle sensor, should be confirmed by resetting ECU to see if it returns. Some WD40 sprayed liberally on the sensor may improve the performance. My understanding is this part is not available from Honda (entire throttle body assy!). There may be aftermarket parts, so check that source.

Code 17, VSS, usually means the Vehicle Speed Sensor must be replaced, but the reset for Code 7 should be used to confirm. There is a procedure for VSS repair on http://www.techautorepairs.com/.

good luck
