Default 1998 Honda Accord tranny slips... need advice

Hello all. A few weeks ago a bought a 98' Honda Accord with 95,000 it. Great shape for its age! Got it for $2600. A few days after a bought it the tranny started downshifting hard and slipping horribly. I did and drain and fill x3 and it has helped considerably with the clunking in gear, but it still slips when shifting in 1st and 2nd gear. Also when I turn it slips then catches into gear. I've done some research and it looks like this is the signs of transmission failure. It is not throwing any transmission codes.
Before I give up and get a used or rebuilt tranny, is there anything else I could try. Or if this is the end of my tranny, should I get a used one or get a rebuilt one? Thanks!!!

I forgot to add: The reason I bought this car is to commute 120 miles everyday 5 days a week so need to know if I need to replace it or if a can nurse it along until it absolutely stops shifting.

Recheck the fluid level. What type of fluid did you use when you did the change?

Double checked it and it's full. And I used Peak multi vehicle synthetic.

I have a 94 Accord and I was having a similar problem..what you said about turning the corner reminded me..my problem was with the wire going to the coil, it was loose, so the sensors on the trans wasnt getting enough juice. Might not be it, but its something to check just incase

The automatic transmissions on all 6th Gens are absolutely horrible. Its not uncommon for them to start slipping as early as 75k miles. The problem was bad enough that Honda issued a recall for '01 & '02 models. My mom owns a 2000 Accord (previously owned by my grandma, so it was NEVER beat on), and the transmission started slipping at 105k miles.

Do you know the reason why these transmissions fail so early? Cause if I put in another one, I don't want the same problem happening at 75,xxx.

Try reading this as to "why" the 6th gen's have more than their share of issues.....
