92 Honda Accord Brake Light Problem

New Member, First Time Posting, THANKS for your help and patience!

My wife has a 92 Honda Accord (219,000) and recently replaced the right side brake light. It worked for a bit and then went out again. Replacing the second time it does not work! We tried the left side light and it did not work either and it still does in the left side.

Any ideas? Or where to find a wiring schamatic for the car?

Richard

First, don't put your email in clear text - that attracts spam-bots to the site.
Click User-CP up top, edit your profile, & check the box that says something like "allow members to send me email". Then people can email you by clicking on your name above any of your posts.

OK then. Over in the DIY section, there's a sticky thread about on-line manuals. You should be able to get a shop manual for your year which will contain wiring diagrams.

So neither bulb works on the right side, but both bulbs work on the left. Is that correct, because it was a little bit confusing from your post.

If that is the case, get a volt meter and unplug the bulb that is not working. Touch the + volt meter probe to the grn/wht wire and the - volt meter probe to a good ground (any bare metal bolt head that is bolted to the sub frame will do). Have your wife hit the brake and see if you read 12V. Let us know what you find.
