93 accord back firing when i am driving
when i accelerating or around 2k rpm cruising my car back fires and skips. i replaced plugs, fuel filter, and cleaned my entire fuel system and nothing seams to work. also very hard to start when warm. what could be wrong?

Are there any stored codes?
Cap/rotor/wires check out fine? Next on the list, don't ge there yet until we do some more testing, clogged egr ports. Not just the valve but the actual ports on the intake runners....93 has the "plugs" that have to be pulled. |
I changed the cap, button, coil, and timing belt last month. i was going to change the wires today. i have yet to try to find any codes.

Yeah it worked fine after the t-belt was changed. it started like 2weeks after.
i will check the plug wires. it only does it when im only 1/4 throttle if i push it to the floor it doesnt do it at all. i have a 5spd |
Sounding more and more like the egr ports......

ok so i found out what it was,
the main wire going to the coil got a hole burned in it and the wire was frayed. it was sparking against a metal hose under the hood and not getting proper spark through the coil. which caused too much fuel to get in the engine and flood the engine and foul the plugs. I cut the wire behind the hole and shaved the wire and put it back in the coil properly and it works fine. it was something so simple that cost so much time and unneeded parts but its fixed :) |
