93 Accord ECM
Is there a way to tell if my ECM is bad. My check engine lite comes on when I go over 60 mph. when you stop and turn the car off and restart the engine lite is no longer comes on. I can not not get an error code to tell me what the problem is

When you jump the connector, what happens?
|
Check engine lite code 69
I am coming up with 69 as the code. Anybody know what that is. Thnx

How long of a pause happens between the code 6 and code 9?
Or are you getting 6 long flashes and 9 short flashes? |
A second or two. The flashes are the same speed.

You likely have a code 6 and a code 9.
6 is for the engine coolant temperature (ECT) sensor. 9 is for the top dead center sensor in the distributor. Before you assume those sensors are bad, I would unplug the electrical connectors to see if any corrosion or oil are in them. Look for any damage to the electrical connector. The ECT sensor is below the distributor and has two wires going to it. The other thing I would do is unbolt the ground that is below the distributor on the thermostat housing. I would clean the eyelet and bolt with a wire brush or sand paper, then reattach. |
