93 Accord SE Engine RPM

Hello:

I have a 1993 Accord SE 4 speed automatic. The engine was replaced and I believe it is a 2.2, maybe not. I don't know much about the car I just got it.

My question, and a question in general for engines used for this year Accord: In 4th gear, going 70 mph the engine RPM registers at around and slightly above 3000 RPM in 4th gear. Is that normal? It seems to me that the engine should be running lower RPMs when the car is in its highest gear on the highway. Any suggestions?

The car runs well and it shifts through all 4 gears.

Just curious.

I have 95 Accord LX and the RPM is pretty high on the freeway. I have to put rear brakes on it tomorrow and then I can tell you for sure.

I just got a 1993 Honda accord ex and that is where my runs while going that speed so seems normal to me though I thought it was a little high myself but guess not.
