94 accord downshifts
 

Hello... I am new to the forum and glad I found it. Hope I can get some help. I have a 1994 Accord LX 4 door automatic. As i go down the road, it will downshift and the RPMs shoot up around 4000 and then it will go back into high gear. Then it will happen again. It just started doing this. Any suggestions?

First guess is the adjustment of the downshift cable. That's a cable from the throttlebody down to the transmission. I'm not an automatic guy, but there's probably some posts around here to explain it.

In the "Common DIY Threads" sticky at the top of this section there is a link to a manual you can download........

Fluid level in the trans is fine and been changed per sechedule using Honda trans fluid.....check the "throttle control" cable adjustment and movement (this is where the manual comes into play).....for bit more detail of what Jim is talking about.
