94 DX VTEC CELs after Previous Repairs. PLEASE HELP
 

These CELs popped up this morning and havent gone away. NOw the car will start but wont stay on.

had a few codes about a month back and had them all repaired, all oem sensors. She was running great till the Timing Belt Broke, after the repairs, i had CEL lights for Various sensors, replaced them all with OEM and some cables too, CELs were gone and the car ran top notch or about 2 weeks.......till this morning. I have no idea how the car runs because it wont stay on long enough to get in gear and drive. At start up, she cranks perfectly, proceeds to idle normally for about 2 seconds then COMPLETELY DIES. I am Able to accelerate up to 4k but dies out, it wont pass 4k at all, so i tried cranking her about a good 14 times with about a minute break in between each turn.

i got a code 9 and code 5, code 5 is probably not related to the no-run condition. code 9 is related to your cylinder position sensor and will cause a no start condition, or in your case, it runs for a couple of seconds and then dies. it's integrated into the distributor, so you have to replace the whole distributor...still a chance it's the ECM, but my money...i mean your money...is on the CYP sensor.

I got codes 9, 15, and 41.

Code 9 is a No 1 cylinder position sensor fault. This could cause difficulty in starting/running.

Code 15 is ignition out put signal and could be an ignitor fault.

Code 41 is o2 sensor heater circuit fault, and usually requires a new o2 sensor. It is not causing starting/running problem and can wait.

Do you know how to use a VOM to check the #1 cylinder position sensor? Remove distributor connector and check sensor wires 4-8 of distributor connector (org and wht wires from distributor). Resistance should be 350-700 ohms.
