Default 1994 Honda Accord LX D4/oil light flashing

For the second time today my car stalled out on me. First the D4 light started flashing, so I pulled over to check it out and the car stalled out dead. Nothing seemed wrong from the outside, so I get back in to start it up and the oil pressure light is now flashing. I decide to try to make it home as I'm right down the road. Car stalled anytime I stopped unless I kept one foot on the gas and one on the brake, giving it just enough gas to not stall. When it shifts, it shifts real rough, not skipping gears, but like it doesn't want to shift. Once it has shifted it's fine. Any ideas?

Check for transmission codes. Follow the procedure for checking engine codes and count the flashes from the D4 light. Let us know what codes you get.

And check the oil level.

Plenty of oil, that was the first thing I checked. Had someone tell me it is likely an o2 sensor.

Don't replace an O2 sensor. Check the codes. All you need is a piece of wire or a thin paperclip.

This is not an O2 sensor based on your description of the problem.

I will try reading the codes. But I no longer have any lights flashing now. Will this change once I've shorted the connector?

Default Transmission Codes

Checked the codes and it is showing code 14 ( one long=10; four short= 1+1+1+1)

What does this mean?

If the D4 light blinked the code 14 means the transmission computer is not seeing a signal from the ECU on the brown/white wire.

The ECU or the TCU can be the problem.

You can try opening up the ECU and TCU to look for signs of damage. Look closely at the capacitors.

You would need an ECU from a 94/95. DX or LX, and an automatic transmission. An accord with an EX or manual transmission will not work on your car. They are common enough that you can picked up a used one at a pick and pull yard for pretty cheap.

The problem happens intermittently. I drove it 20 miles yesterday after it stalled and never had an issue. Would this likely still be the case?

When you shorted the SCS connector, I assume code 14 was flashed by the D4 lamp? Seems like that would be flaky shifting (as you describe) but not engine stalling.

Code 14 from the check-engine lamp flashing is a problem with the idle-control system. That's consistent with the engine stalling.
