95 accord stalling plz help!
I got a 95 accord 2.2 non vtech auto trans. So
It will start and run n even idle i can drive it but when I come to a stop sign it acts like like its running out of gas Ive changes the fuel filter there it a tone of pressure at the fuel Rail brand new distributer new cap n rotor new wire set n new Plugs. I even took the Idle Air Control Valve apart n cleaned it but it Continues to stall but if i put my foot on the gas while im at a Stop sign or in nutural it wont stall.. Cant quite figure it out |
Any codes (CEL on)?
Once the car warms up, what is the base idle rpm? Did you let it "learn" idle after doing this work? There is a procedure to let it learn/relearn idle. |
No CEL and was not aware had to relearn idle never
Heard of anything like that before It idles right at about 800 to about 1k but it will only Idle in park or neutral wont idle if in drive even sitting still UNLESS it has Just been started for about the frist 5 mins or so till the car warms up it will start the staling I was thinking maybe a clogged cat? Or map sensor or tps? But Just trying to get some diff opinions... Im new to hondas so trying to figure this Out is got me stumped |
In addition to cleaning the IACV, you need to clean the throttle plate and bore w/ throttle body cleaner.
Despite the cleaning, you need to confirm that IACV is working. Suggest disconnecting IACV at idle and see if idle drops to about 550-600 rpm. If no change, then IACV is not working or stuck in closed postion. If engine dies, there is not enough idle air bypass; either blocked passage or improper idle air bypass bleed screw setting. good luck |
Put new iavc in it and one thing i have to ask what are the two lines on the bottom and are they supposed to have coolant in the lines? And could a coolant sensor be making it run weird? My buddy has a saturn n it ran like **** n it was a coolant sensor ?

Coolant lines warm the IACV and prevent sticking, warm the bypass air. There should be an inlet and outlet hose connection.
Did you clean throttle plate/bore? Any results from disconnecting IACV and checking idle? good luck |

Possibly air in the cooling system after installing a new IACV? Air confuses the system. And not letting it relearn the idle. Maby Try bleeding the system and refer to a repair manual on proper technique to adjust and set the idle. Maby adjust your FITV also. They need turned in and tighten down or you get vaccume leaks which will mess with the idle. All this is cost free stuff u can try. There's lots of threads in the DIY section how to do all this
