95 DX accord bpower motor

on my accord the blower motor works when it wants to. when i turn it on it will either come on or it wont and when it does come on it will change speeds as if i turned it from high to low or completely turn off. and turning the blower switch on and off doesn't help. some direction with this is greatly appreciated

Check the voltage at the blower motor, fairly easy to get to. If you are getting voltage to the motor and the motor is not running, pretty sure you've found the issuse :)

Motor brushes wear out. Another test is to thump the dash firmly. If blower starts and runs, you've confirmed worn brushes.

Fortunately, a new blower installation is easy in this model. Three screws hold blower in place. One near outside edge of pax foot well is difficult to reach. I found that a 6" flexible screwdriver extension worked nicely to access.

good luck

i have never worked on an accord before. could you show me where the blower is and how to access it. i know im asking a lot but my 5 year old daughter will appreciate the heat

It's under the dash on passenger side, near upper right corner. An extended end protudes lower. Go to autozone repair manuals and look up blower pics for your model. This also shows installation procedure, but as pointed out it's dead simple except for one screw access.

i really appreciate all your help just one last thing. i'm assuming i dont have to remove the dash. is that correct? also when the fan doesn't run i hear a clicking coming from behind the glove compartment. the clicking stops when i turn off the fan power and starts when i turn on the fan power providing the blower doesn't come on.

See DIY forum, Online Manuals post and download the 94-97 Accord manual. This will have sketches of blower location.

No you don't have to remove anything except blower to repair.

Clicking could be weak blower turning slowly.

good luck

Might have to pull the carpet back a little on the pass side to allow just a bit more room to "drop" the motor all the way down so that the blower wheel clears the housing...

thare is a blower moter relay but it is on the left side of dash I would turn on blower to hi and check voltage at the blower if you have full bat. voltage with a meater I would check with a old head lite way? to make sure the ckt. can supply the rite current if all is good it is the moter IMHO
