97 Accord Security System Problem, need help

I have a 97 Honda Accord and I went out to start it this morning and I am having some troubles. Its has the security system where you have to turn the key from half way and the let beeping stop before you finish turning the key to start the engine. Well, I went out there this morning and it would never start. I would turn the switch half way, wait for the beeping to stop, then turn the whole way and I would get nothing. The lights and everything turns on just fine so it isn't the battery. I tried messing with it for a while and could never get it started. Then the securiy system finally locked (where the steering column locks) but now I can't even turn the switch half way. It won't budge. I tried shutting all the doors, unlocking the car with the key a few times and then tried starting it again, but the key still won't turn and the steering wheel is locked.

Any suggestions

turn the steering wheel slightly to the left then turn the key. They key doesnt turn when there is tension on the steering wheel lock. by the way, the steering column lock is factory standard, not a security system.

As far as your starting problem, does the engine turn over at all when you try to start it?
or does it just make no noise at all?
or does it keep turning over but not start?

My steering wheel cannot turn left at all. I can turn it right alittle bit. The way the steering is right now is that is turned 90 degress clockwise. So I can turn it counterclockwise (left) at all but I can turn it alittle the other way

well turn it a little bit in whatever direction you can, then turn the key. It should at least turn.

Does your alarm system have a starter kill?

If so, it sounds like thats malfunctioning.

I don't know anything about a starting kill? How do I get that?

what do you mean by you to wait for it to stop beeping before you can start the engine?
are you sure thats not just the seatbelt alarm?
try putting your seatbelt on, then putting the key in the engine and turning it halfway. does it still beep?

To start the car you turn the key from the 0 position to the I position, and you wait a few seconds for the SRS light to turn off, then you finish turning the key all the way and the engine starts. I thought this was factory installed security but could this have been installed by the previous owner?

I got the steering wheel to unlock. but I am still getting nothing when I turn the key. My lights on my dash come on, exept for my SRS light. That one doesnt turn on.

this definetly wasnt factory. In fact, i would bet its some sort of ghetto rigging by the previous owner if it in fact does not start while its beeping.

check to see if the starter is getting voltage. find the wires that go to the starter and use a test light or voltimeter to check current flow. test it right at the starter, while another person holds the key. If there IS current flowing while your trying to start it, the starters busted. If not, It could be literally tons of things. Im a loss.
