97 Cooling Fan or AC Problem
 

Can anyone show a schematic as to the location of the switches and relays, I have a 97 Accord and it has started running warm when the a/c is on,I am new to the car and really don't know where to look .. Any help would be greatly appreciated..... Thanks

Do you mean the coolant temperature is running warm or AC air temps are warmer than expected?

There is a download manual available under DIY forum for Online Manuals. This will have the wiring diagram for AC and cooling fans circuit.

Are both cooling fans running when AC is on or not?

The heater valve control cable may need adjustment or the heater valve may need replacement. See my post #9 in this thread:

As TH mentioned both fans should run when the AC is on. My 97 Accord had a problem running hot with the AC off. It turned out to be the cooling fan temperature switch on the top of the block. There is also another switch located on the coolant housing outlet going to the top of the radiator. Hope this helps.

Both Fans are working, It seems to get above normal when I accelerate from a red light, I am not doing any kind of Drag Race starts, I am just taking off normal, it will come back to normal if I maintain 55 mph , I have now removed the Thermostat to see if it helps , not sure it made any difference,so I will be installing a new one, Car is due for a Timing Belt,Could old one have stretched or ?? enough to effect the timing ?? 2nd Belt due car has 140,000 , The only thing that removing the Thermostat helped was sitting in traffic, doesn't seem to get as hot anymore ..

Suggest using an OEM thermostat. They work better than aftermarket to come up to temperature quickly and hold temperature.

If you are not losing coolant and car appears to be overheating only on acceleration, I would suspect possible faulty temperature gauge. Rapid changes (3-5 secs) in temp are usually not possible.

Only way I see a rapid temp change would happen would be a head gasket fault allowing hot gases to get into cooling system. This will also cause coolant overflow from coolant reservoir and loss of coolant. However this will happen whether moving or not.

Well today I go check water before I drive off, I don't seem to see water moving in the Radiator ???????? Is this Possible !!????? I still have not installed a new Thermostat, Now I am really confused, I don't see any Oil in the water or on the Radiator Cap, No water inside Rocker Cover ??? No Steam out of Tailpipe, Doesn't seem to be losing water ... Could it be possible not to have any circulation ??????????

if the water pump has never been replaced it may be overdue, especially if you use tap water and not coolant ... you need to see if the fans are cycling on and off

With a cold engine, thermostat is closed and very little water flow through radiator.

If you're not losing coolant, then thermostat is most likely reason for overheating,...if it's real. As mentioned earlier gauge movement or sensor may be at fault.
