97 jspec h22 question

anyone that can help me with this issuse it would be greatly appreciated!!! I have a 94 accord coupe lx body...and a 97 h22 jspec engine....now I've been told that the 97 h22 will go in my car but will not be functional because of the atts box that came on the 97 prelude.....they say its for torque control or something like that.....so my question is could I get theecu out of a 96 and run the car off of that and not have any problems or what..if anyone can help me it would be great

RE: 97 jspec h22 question

its possible that engine does not have the atts unit on it, have you checked to see if it is on there? also its more complicated than just getting the ECU.

1)the transmission with the ATTS is a triptronic tranny
2)97+ prelude ECUs have immobilizers in them so the ecu wont work in your car anyways
3)if it does have ATTS it has a weird halfshaft assembly so it cant be hooked up to a regular prelude/accord tranny without custom fab.

I looked on it and it does not have it on there...and even if I were 2 buy the conversion harness for the ecu would it still not run my car?

the immobilizer makes it not work once its out of the original car. you have to find a ecu out of a 96 prelude as they are the only obd2 year without them. because people know this they usualy want about $350 for them
