The Man has got the plan...Take to AutoZone for a FREE $80.00 scan...I cant believe that someone would pay $ 300.00 and some dollars to have a O2 sensor changed,./';][ That's called Highway Robbery.

okay maybe i wasnt specific enough. i apologize. i know where my obd II is supposed to be located. the problem is its not where its supposed to be located. i found the bracket that its supposed to be mounted in and its not there. the reason i need to know is i can get the codes myself without auto zone by using a jumper wire in the obd II. but since the obd II is not where its supposed to be i cant do it. so does anyone know where it would be if it is not under the drivers console like its supposed to be??

I checked online at honda owner's link, the oxygen sensor is exspenive for sure. The part was $254.00 alone.
the rest were taxes and labor.

Someone probably disconnected the service check connector from the bracket and pushed it back under the dash. You may have to pull the glove box out, but I bet it's close by. It's a blue connector in most cases.

good luck

Ooops the OP has a '98' obd2not an obd1, no Blue 2 pin connector in the 98.
But yes I've seen the DLC be shoved out of it's bracket and stuffed somewhere else.

I know that 98 is the new generation and all that but in my 97 the port is behind the ash tray. Have you looked there just to be sure?
