98 Accord stalling
I have a 98 Accord LX 2.3 59K, automatic, I first noticed sometimes when you make a turn or take off from a stop it hesitates just a little when you accelerate. Now lately it has started to just die when you let off the accelerater to slow down. It always starts back up and runs fine. It does not do it all the time, maybe every 4th or 5th time you slow down or stop the engine just dies before you make a complete stop. I'm looking for any ideas or suggestions, someone told me maybe the fuel pressure regulater.
Thanks for reading my post and I do appreiate any help. Thanks again. |
RE: 98 Accord stalling
If it's ever had a problem charging or starting It could (on an outside chance) be the battery.... However, first things first, any check engine lights?

RE: 98 Accord stalling
Another question would be when was the last time it was tuned? (air filter, fuel filter, plugs, etc.)

RE: 98 Accord stalling
I bought it used a couple months ago and don't know any history. Where is the fuel filter located? Thanks

RE: 98 Accord stalling
just as a quick test to see what's been done to it pop the air filter out and see if it looks like crap, if it does then chances are nothing has been done to it.... in that case I'd do plugs, wires, cap, rotor (or is 98 electronic igntion? can't remember..) air filter, oil change and fuel filter...

RE: 98 Accord stalling
'98 has no normal fuel filter. Only a mesh bag inside the tank.
'98 DOES have distributor and plug wires. |
RE: 98 Accord stalling
I replaced plugs, wires, cap and rotor. Runs smoother but still dies once or twice a day but only dies when you let off the accelerater to slow down. I'm trying to sell the car but want to fix the problem before I sell it. Thanks
