99 5-speed accord throttle delay
When I shift my 5 speed 99 accord lx my throttle doesn't snap closed the the way I'd like it too. Is there an adjustment for this? Lube/replace cable? New return spring? Just the way it is?
Thanks, Al |

Check for crud in the throttle cable. Otherwise, it may be intentional (especially if you have the ULEV engine).

Thanks, I'll try that. The throttle cable was the first place I was going to look. BTW it is just the standard VTEC.

RE: 99 5-speed accord throttle delay
I had a 98 4-cyl VTEC (non-ULEV), but it was auto tranny. I never noticed any hesitation when closing the throttle.
However, the engine generates a LOT of emmissionswhen you suddenlylift-throttle (when shifting).Honda may have done something cleverwith the IACV to minimize this. |
