99 Accord EX Passenger Side Multiplexer

Is it possible to use a 00 or 01 passenger side multiplexer in a 99 Accord EX V6? It's is hard to find remotes that work with the trunk open option in my 99. I discovered that there was an electronic change in the multiplexer from 99 to 00 and above and the trunk option won't work using the later series. I can find the multiplexer on eBay for a reasonable price which would mean I can find far more aftermarket remotes that would work.

Doubt anyone knows this answer definitively.

I checked Honda shop manual for 98-02 Accords and it does not show a different circuit diagram for different model years. This would at least mean the unit will likely mate w/ the wire harness.

Note, there is also a pax side Mulitplex unit that is connected to driver's side. Even if compatible w/ your model year, you may need to replace both.

I checked car-part.com which generally shows cross-over compatiblity and it showed almost exclusively 98-99 as donor years. I did see one 2000 offered, but I am suspicous it could be an error.

Noticed that units were available as low as <$15, so you might consider a trial run.

good luck
